The Childcare and Kindergarten Association Limited (C&K) is a not-for-profit early childhood provider with nearly 350 early childhood education and care services located across Queensland. C&K acknowledges that each child and family have unique early education and care requirements and so we provide a range of different programs including childcare, kindergarten, outside school hours' care and integrated services. 

We are currently looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team. This is a permanent full-time position, 38 hours per week, based in our central head office in Kedron. The successful applicant will be commencing in the role in April 2022.

As an Accounts Payable Officer with C&K, you will be working in a team of small team, reporting to the Accounts Payable Team Leader to work collaboratively with the business to provide analysis, advice, and support and will be driving continuous process improvements within the Accounts Payable lifecycle.

You will be responsible for end-to-end Accounts Payable processing in line with C&K policy and procedures, audit compliance; with integrity; privacy; and security of all data accessed and maintained by the Accounts Payable team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Actioning high-volume emails daily in FreshService to assign and action across the team.
  • Processing shared responsibility of 80 invoices daily to validate compliance with ATO requirements and C&K financial delegation policy before entering to AX Dynamics by either data entry, uploading & PO matching.
  • Process weekly payments for 300+ Suppliers (multiple payment methods) to prepare payment proposals; generate bank files; create payments in the bank portal and send remittances.
  • Supplier statements/accounts reconciliation.
  • Maintain databases for 3000+ Vendors (Dynamics AX/ EFTSURE) and 300+ Credit Cards accounts (ProMaster) ensuring the integrity of master data.
  • Period end tasks to meet EOM deadline for processing and reporting.
  • Provide customer service to support our C&K business units with supplier, invoice, and credit card inquiries, relating to business policy and process.
  • Process New & changes to C&K Credit Card accounts in line with staff movement notifications.

Ideal applicants will have: 

  • 5+ years’ experience in a high-volume end-to-end Accounts Payable role.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication to work cohesively as part of a team and provide excellent customer service.
  • Strong time management and audit compliance.
  • Intermediate/advanced excel knowledge to apply and understand formulas.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar large system accounting ERPs.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products with the ability to learn new software applications.
  • Knowledge of Early Childhood Education &/or not-for-profit sector is desirable
  • Paid blue card (or willing to obtain one)
