Gundala Community Kindergarten is an Indigenous community based not for profit organisation, affiliated with C&K (Qld). Gundala has provided early childhood education for young children for over 40 years. The centre is operated by a management committee which is elected annually from the parent body.
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Director/ Nominated Supervisor to commence ASAP. The position is currently a part-time position with hours of work Monday-Thursday, 8:00am to 3:00pm. Monday is allocated for non-contact Director/ Nominated Supervisor duties and Tuesday-Thursday, 8:30am to 2:30pm are the kindy program operational times. This is a 12-month contract position with a view to move to a permanent position from Semester 2, 2023.
Set on the hill in the heart of Wynnum, our kindergarten has a unique setting offering many natural play and cultural experiences, activities, and challenges for children to explore and enjoy. Gundala also features a bush tucker garden and native beehive. We use the Reggio Emilia approach to pedagody, taking the child's lead in designing and developing the learning.
Embedded in the centre and at the heart of our work is our First Nations culture. Gundala works collaboratively with Elders within community, local schools, and other local indigenous organisations.
Gundala Community Kindergarten operates as a single unit service, catering for kindergarten children from 3.5 years to school entry. You will be required to work closely with the other educators to deliver high quality kindergarten programs based on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).
