Early Childhood Assistant Educator | Shailer Road Community Kindergarten
Shailer Road Community Kindergarten has an opportunity for two passionate and visionary early childhood professionals to join our Kindergarten in Early Childhood Assistant Educator roles. We acknowledge and celebrate our departing Educators, one of whom is retiring from Early Education and Care and the other who has advanced their career into Early Childhood Teaching.
The successful candidate will be passionate about play based learning and have a sound knowledge and understanding of contemporary early childhood development and best practice. You will be committed to ongoing professional development and demonstrate a capacity to work alongside colleagues to continually improve and refine teaching and learning practices.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication skills and high-level interpersonal skills, working to develop constructive and respectful relationships with children, parents, and other staff. You will be working collaboratively with the teacher; which will include implementing the planned program and also documenting observations of the children’s behaviour and development through learning stories.

Shailer Road Community Kindergarten is a not-for-profit provider affiliated with C&K. Located on Yuggera Land, we are positioned next to a natural bushland reserve and have provided early childhood education to our community for over 30 years. Our centre has a large outdoor play space, and our classrooms are complimented by wide covered verandas. Children experience a natural play-based learning environment with high quality resources, and a high ratio of caring educators and staff. The kindergarten operates during school term time only.
We are a double-unit centre which operates two alternative kindergarten programs – a 5-day fortnight in one unit and 2 long days in the second. Our team is committed to providing a safe, friendly, respectful and caring environment that caters for the needs, interests and uniqueness of children, family, staff and the wider community.
