About Jamboree Community Kindergarten

Our name “Jamboree” means a “Meeting Place”, for children to explore, discover, engage, and play.  Jamboree Community Kindergarten, an affiliate with C&K, has been providing high-quality early childhood education for more than 30 years offering a flexible play-based approach to learning for all children.

Jamboree Community Kindergarten (“JCK”) is a community kindergarten offering 4 classes over a rotational 5-day fortnight to 88 students. Our team is built on strong foundations, with longstanding members that are incredibly excited to welcome you into the team.

JCK is a well-resourced centre offering beautiful and well-maintained grounds with natural play areas, and a nurturing, stimulating and educational centre with an aesthetically pleasing environment for children to play, interact and learn with other children, parents, and educators.

We are looking for an Early Childhood Teacher passionate about play-based learning in an inviting community-based Kindergarten.

This opportunity would suit a newly graduated Early Childhood Teacher looking to begin their career at an exceeding centre backed by a highly experienced team.

  • Develop trusting relationships with families through regular, honest and open communication about the education and care of their children.
  • Extending children’s thinking and learning through intentional teaching strategies, inspiring environments, spontaneous play experiences and high -quality documentation.
  • Gather and analyse information from written observations to ensure children’s strengths, interests and preferences are included in the programme and activities.
  • Actively build and maintain reciprocal relationships with families and team members.

Role Requirements:

  • Registration or provisional registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
  • Experience working in an environment guiding and supporting children up to six years old – university professional experience accepted.
  • Experience developing high quality programmes for children up to six years old - university professional experience accepted.
  • A demonstrated ability to adhere to and understand the ECA code of Ethics and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
  • Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours while engaging with children.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing a safe, caring, non-judgemental and supportive environment for children and their families.
