Early Childhood Teacher - C&K Herston Road Community Long Day Care

  • Permanent position, 40 hours per week with a rostered day off each month.

C&K Herston Road Long Day Care, is a unique centre that caters for up to 44 children across 3 learning spaces, we are very lucky to have a natural outdoor area that provides children with an outlet to explore, engage and supports motor development. The children have a large natural space to be adventurous. Because we are so close to the Queensland University or Technology (QUT) we endeavor to build that community partnership and take excursions to their library, football fields and their newly developed picnic areas around the campus.

Our Centre is now looking for an Early Childhood Teacher who is passionate about working alongside children in their early years to join their team in the Kindergarten room. When joining our Centre, you will contribute to a team that values open communication, sees children as competent and capable learners. This is a permanent full time position

As the Teacher, you will have an ability to document and assess children's learning behavior and development. You will be able to model and support the room educators to utilise a variety of teaching strategies including intentional teaching and reflective practice in daily work.

In your new role you have the opportunity to learn and grow through C&K, to bring new skills and ideas to challenge your knowledge and deliver excellence in early education.

We welcome applications and interest from newly qualified Teachers interested in their first Teaching role within Early Childhood, as well as experienced teachers with an understanding of a play-based curriculum encompassing birth to 5 practice across the centre.

To be successful for this role:

  • Bachelor's Degree in early childhood or equivalent (recognised by ACECQA as an early childhood teaching qualification) or studying towards
  • Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers desirable
  • Experience delivering a Kindergarten program
  • Knowledge of National Quality Framework and Standards ("NQF" and "NQS"), the Early Years Learning Framework ("EYLF")
  • Current Paid or Exemption Blue card
  • Current First Aid, CPR and Asthma and Anaphylaxis
  • An understanding of the provision of a safe, well planned indoor and outdoor learning environment
  • An ability to document observations of children's behaviour and development
  • An ability to implement a planned program, ensuring the needs of individual children and the group are met
  • Exceptional relationship skills with families, children and other educators within the service
