About C&K 

The Childcare and Kindergarten Association Limited (C&K) is a not-for-profit early childhood provider with nearly 350 early childhood education and care services located across Queensland. C&K acknowledges that each child and family have unique early education and care requirements and so we provide a range of different programs including childcare, kindergarten, outside school hours' care and integrated services. 

About C&K Tara Childcare:

We offer quality education and care for children from birth to 5 years, including an approved kindergarten programme for children in the year before they attend school. We provide before school care, after school care and vacation care for children aged from 5 to 12 years. 

We are located just across the road from Tara Shire State College and an 8-minute walk from St Joseph's Catholic School. We are able to provide before school, after school and vacation care for children attending St Josephs as they are transported to the centre via the school buses. We are on a quiet street with ample parking outside. Our centre has a stimulating indoor and outdoor environment that offers a range of opportunities for children to learn through play. Our centre is very actively involved with the wider community.

At C&K Tara Childcare Centre we are looking for a passionate Early Childhood Teacher. The role is Full-Time 40 hours per week. Part-time (3days) will be considered for the right candidate. 

  • ECT role is supported by Government funding offering a Free Kindy program.
  • Offering 2 Kindy groups - Group A: Monday and Tuesday (long day program); and Group B: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (short day program). 

Ideal applicants will have: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or equivalent (recognised by ACECQA as an early childhood teaching qualification) OR Bachelor of Primary Teaching with completed diploma qualification & teacher’s registration.

Education and Practice:

  • An ability to lead the implementation of a planned program, ensuring the needs of individual children and the group are met
  • An ability to document and assess children's learning behaviour and development
  • Maintain and demonstrate current working knowledge and theories relevant to early childhood education
  • Demonstrated understanding of the provision of a safe, engaging, well planned indoor and outdoor learning environment
  • Participate in professional learning and development to enhance individual leadership and management capability and facilitate learning opportunities for the team.

Relationships with children:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing practical guidance and interaction that ensures quality outcomes for children
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining positive relationships with families that supports each child's needs

Personal accountability:

Evidence of demonstrated or developing experience that shows:

  • Initiative and a strong sense of personal responsibility for meeting objectives and managing health and safety risks;
  • Models professional and ethical behaviour;
  • Commits to personal development; and
  • Displays courage in the provision of advice and decision making.
