About C&K:

C&K is a not-for-profit organisation which is recognised as one of Queensland's leading bodies in the Early Childhood and Education sector. Since 1907, the organisation has grown and developed its social purpose agenda and now educates children in 360 centres comprised of both Childcare Centres and Kindergartens

We offer a holistic approach to high quality education centered not just on learning but also on building meaningful relationships to ensure that children feel safe, secure and supported. This centre specialises in nature pedagogy and natural spaces which include modern and natural outdoor play spaces featuring mud play, sand pits, a dry creek with pumping water and a nature reserve for the children to explore.

C&K Thornlands Childcare Centre is currently looking for a qualified and motivated Group Leader to join their team in the toddler room. This is a full-time position, working 38 hours per week. As an experienced and qualified Group Leader, you will be responsible for planning and implementing a quality, educational and child centered program, meeting the needs of individual children and the group using the C&K 'Listening and Learning Together' curriculum approach.

Ideal applicants will have:

  • Diploma Qualification in Early Childhood (qualification must be recognised by ACECQA).
  • Prior experience working in the early childhood profession. We are looking for Group Leaders to work across all age groups in the service.
  • Awareness of the National Quality Framework (NQF), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG)
  • Prior experience developing and maintaining open and collaborative relationships with families and the community
  • Effective team player who models professional and ethical behavior

What's different about C&K Thornlands Childcare Centre:

  • Unique outdoor environment with large natural play spaces with special fun areas like mud, dirt, natural resources, plenty of shade and a nature reserve.
  • On-going professional and personal development opportunities - we want you to evolve and grow within our team
  • C&K's exclusive Birth to Three program - we want you to 'slow down' and be in the moment with the children as they learn and explore the world. Our focus is on building deep and trusting relationships with the children
  • Embraces the diversity of children, families, and the community

C&K is committed to an inclusive workforce and we strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
