About the role:

At C&K Oakey Community Kindergarten, a position has become available for an experienced and qualified Inclusion Support Assistant to join their team 2022.

This position will be casual but would require you to work 6 hours Monday to Friday commencing in January. Please note, these hours are subject to review throughout the year and could be reduced or changed depending on the needs of the classroom.

As the inclusion support assistant, you would be required to assist with the whole group, however there is a large element of one on one care required in this position as well. The successful applicant must have previous experience in a similar role, have the drive and capability to implement and introduce strategies into the program and be flexible with their hours.

The suitable applicant will be expected to:

  • Work with and support children with additional needs.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG). 
  • Assisting with monitoring, recording, and evaluating children’s learning and experiences and makes adjustments to the program where necessary. 
  • Supporting and guiding children’s behaviour in positive ways.
  • Flexibility with start and finish times each week.

Ideal applicants will have:

  • Approved Early Childhood Certificate III in Children’s Services (or equivalent qualification).
  • Hold a current Blue Card or ability to obtain a Blue Card.
  • Current First Aid/ CPR including Asthma and Anaphylaxis.
  • Experience working with children and families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Previous experience in a similar role assisting children with additional needs.
