About the role:

C&K is looking for Kindy Uplift Advisors to support kindergarten programs (external nominated kindergarten providers participating in the Kindy Uplift Pilot in 2022) to utilise and maximise their funding to strengthen children’s access to, and meaningful participation in, the full range of kindergarten experiences. The Pilot will focus on 5 priority areas:

  • social and emotional capability
  • physicality
  • thinking and responding
  • oral language and communication
  • access and inclusion.

As a Kindy Uplift Advisor with C&K, you will be supporting Kindergarten programs within the Central Queensland Region.

The successful applicant for this role will:

  • Participate in information sessions and workshops with the Department of Education;
  • Support services to develop evidence-informed Kindy uplift plans (February to March 2022);
  • Receipt, review and approve the Kindy uplift pilot Plans of each service they support; (February to March 2022);
  • Provide additional ongoing support to services to ensure successful implementation and monitoring over the year; (March to December 2022);
  • Work as part of a wider Kindy uplift pilot team and engage in regular advisor meetings and events with other advisors and the department;
  • Facilitate communities of practice between kindies involved within the pilot to support continuous improvement;
  • Ensure reflection and evaluation activities of services are undertaken;
  • support planning and approval of/for 2023 uplift plans; and Participate in regular internal and external reporting.
  • The Kindy uplift advisor will work cross-functionally within a network of key stakeholders including:
    • C&K and Lady Gowrie Queensland
    • Cohort of eligible services/Approved Providers
    • Department of Education
    • Other Kindy Uplift Advisors.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to working in ways that complement The Early Years Learning Framework and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines.
  • Contribute to the development of professional learning,resources and tools.
  • Support cooperation and partnerships at a state-wide level to advocate for children and best practice and support ongoing delivery of quality early childhood education and care programs.
  • Help to advance reconciliation and strengthen Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander perspectives throughout early years services.
  • Role model and promote C&K’s values.
  • Exemplify personal drive and integrity – take personal responsibility for meeting objectives, showing initiative and committing energy to see that goals are achieved.
  • Work collaboratively with other Kindy Uplift Advisors to ensure programs and services maximise the delivery of quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrate standards of excellence in professional practice and ethical behaviour.

Ideal applicants will have: 

  • Hold an ACECQA approved Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or Bachelor in Education (Early Childhood) or similar qualification
  • Demonstrated capability to facilitate collaborative, co-designed projects.
  • Demonstrated experience informing and developing innovative best practice strategies that improve early childhood education and care programs and best outcomes for children.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to facilitate team collaboration and cooperation to achieve best practice outcomes in evidence-based practice for early childhood.
  • Excellent practical understanding of the National Quality Framework, and legislative and regulatory requirements relevant to early childhood education and care, and tools and strategies for assessing outcomes.
  • Skills, capability and experience in analysing information, trends and data, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations to external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated high level organisation, negotiation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work both collaboratively in a team, and independently when required.
  • Commitment to advancing the Early Years Learning Framework and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines.
