The Role

Sherwood Community Kindergarten is currently seeking an experienced and qualified Teaching Assistant to join the Kindergarten part time.  This multifaceted role supports and works closely with the centre Director and team of educators in the delivery of a high quality, inclusive and educational program which provides our children with a secure and nurturing environment.    

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and possess a strong passion and dedication for working with young children in a play-based learning environment.  They will bring warmth, patience, a positive attitude and sense of enthusiasm to the role.  They will also have exceptional skills in communicating and building relationships with families and children and be committed to furthering their own learning as an early childhood professional.    

  • Permanent part-time position commencing in January 2023
  • 5-day (38hrs) fortnight (Alternate Wednesdays, Thursday and Friday)
  • The role includes attending staff meetings, training and Center events out of regular hours
  • Working with the 3-5 years age group 

 Ideal candidates will have:

  • Certificate lll or Diploma Qualification in Early Childhood (qualification must be recognised by ACECQA)
  • Current Paid or Exemption Blue Card (or willing to obtain one)
  • Up to date First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate/s
  • National Police Check issued within the last 3 months (or willing to obtain one)
  • Familiarity with the Early Years Learning Framework, and either Listening and Learning Together: C&K Curriculum Approach or QLD Kindergarten Learning Guidelines 
  • Awareness of the National Quality Framework
