About the opportunity

We are currently looking for a Talent Acquisition Team Leader to join our exceptional People & Culture team. This is a permanent full-time position based in our modern, open plan central office at Kedron. Working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

As the Talent Acquisition Team Leader, you will support the day-to-day operations of the talent acquisition team and achieve the broader strategic goal of attracting exceptional people to support C&K deliver its vision of being a place where every child flourishes. This is a ‘hands-on’ position and will fill vacant relief shifts and actively recruit relief employees to build and maintain the relief pool. 

Key accountabilities 

  • Supervise and support Talent Acquisition Advisors to provide a quality recruitment service to C&K hiring managers and candidates/applicants.
  • Be the main point of contact for relief recruitment within C&K.
  • Maintain and develop best practice recruitment methodologies and frameworks including policies, procedures and processes.
  • Create and execute both standard and innovative candidate attraction and recruitment strategies.
  • Implement pro-active sourcing strategies to build and maintain a talent pipeline of candidates for future requirements.
  • Ensure that all vacant positions are filled in a timely manner.
  • Promote C&K’s employee value proposition (EVP) and adhere to C&K employer branding guidelines.
  • Ensure all relief employees meet compliance requirements e.g. qualification evidence, reference checks, background checks (incl. Police History), Blue Cards/Exemption Cards and First Aid Certification.
  • Manage relationships with service providers including recruitment agencies, recruitment system vendors, background checks providers, online job boards and social media channels.
  • Manage the ongoing performance, on-boarding and compliance of the relief pool.
  • Manage the resolution and finalisation of conflicts and grievances in the casual workforce in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Identify relief pool/recruitment issues and provide innovative solutions through process improvement.

About you

This role will suit someone with the following experience, skills and abilities: 

  • A tertiary qualification(s) in human resources or a related field.
  • Experience managing a complex and high-volume internal recruitment function.
  • A knowledge and understanding of best practice recruitment methodologies and approaches.
  • Experience of managing, administering and developing recruitment and onboarding systems. PageUp experience is advantageous.
  • An understanding of systems (e.g. recruitment, onboarding, payroll and time and attendance), data flows, integration and their impact.
  • A knowledge of employment law to successfully manage employment conditions.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to coach and develop team members.
  • Collaborative leadership establishing sound working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
