Help Shape Futures at C&K Mackay Children and Family Centre

C&K Mackay Children and Family Centre is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander service delivering integrated early childhood education, family support, parenting programs and child and maternal health services through our Long Day Care Centre and Community Hub.

We are seeking two Permanent Full Time Family Support Officers for an immediate start.

About the role

You will design and deliver culturally responsive, child-centred programs that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children (0–8 years) and their families. This includes parenting programs, supported playgroups, family support, brief interventions and child development screening.

Key responsibilities

• Support families using a strengths-based approach

• Provide brief therapeutic intervention, counselling and mediation

• Promote positive parent–child relationships

• Deliver individual and group programs that build family capacity

• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders

What you’ll bring

• Experience in family support, counselling or mediation

• Knowledge of child development and child protection

• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

• Current driver’s licence (bus driving may be required)
