We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to support the integrity, compliance, and performance of our finance function. In this role, you will ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and provide valuable insights to support business decision-making.

Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will also play a key role in driving process improvements across payroll, taxation, and financial systems.

You’ll help us shape the future of children in our care by:

• Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, including reconciliations, authorisations, and GST accuracy
• Ensuring payroll, tax, and PAG processes align with internal policies and accounting standards
• Managing compliance with tax regulations, including BAS and FBT submissions
• Ensuring the accuracy of payroll data integration into Dynamics from iChris
• Preparing and reviewing CAG statements and responding to related queries
• Delivering timely monthly reporting and analysis, including support for CFO reporting
• Preparing grant and funding acquittals and ensuring timely submission
• Identifying and implementing continuous process improvements
• Maintaining strong internal controls, including segregation of duties
• Supporting statutory reporting, audits, and responding to audit queries
• Providing financial analysis, advice, and support to the broader business

What you’ll bring

We strongly uphold our child safety policies and procedures. To thrive and succeed in this role, you will have:

• Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related field
• CA or CPA qualification
• Experience in a Financial Accountant role within a medium-to-large organisation
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, principles, and internal controls
• Advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables)
• Experience with ERP systems (MS Dynamics AX or similar desirable)
• Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex information
• Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong numerical capability
• Valid Blue Card or Exemption Card
• Current Police Check
